Learnable Peers came together the way these things usually do: a handful of working authors and artists kept finding themselves in the same conversations, about craft, about covers, about the odd business of getting stories into readers’ hands. Eventually we decided to stop having those conversations by accident. Now we have them on purpose.
We’re independent writers and artists, each publishing under our own name or imprint. Between us: over a hundred years in the business and more than a thousand published tales. Everyone here has shipped books. Nobody here is done learning, which is rather the point of the name.
Everyone in the group knows something the rest of us want to know. So we take turns leading and take turns being led. Finished pages get workshopped. Hard-won lessons about publishing, marketing, and the working life of an author get pooled instead of hoarded. The aim is simple: each member’s next book, better and farther-reaching than the last.
